533 workplaces volunteered to participate in the national challenge to make the biggest health improvements in 60 days.
How much can you improve the health of a workplace using nothing but digital means? The answer to this question became quite clear after DI (Danish Industries) and TV2 (Danish Television) launched the nationwide campaign SundhedsRyk.dk with support from Forebyggelsesfonden (National Health Institution).
Campaign participants from more than 500 workplaces implemented a digital health check and then received a personal point target, which they were to attempt to reach every day throughout the 60 days duration of the campaign.
The daily reporting consisted of healthy factors such as focusing on main meals, fruits, vegetables, snacks, soft drinks, sleep and exercise.
Via the gaming element of the campaign, as well as tailored communication, participants managed to increase the amount of healthy main meals by over 30%, increase the intake of fruit/vegetables by over 40%, lower the amount of snacks and soft drinks by 25% and increase fitness by 18%.
Overall, the project led to an average predicted drop in absence due to illness of approximately 10% among participating workplaces.
